General Responsibilities:

Coordinate distribution of paramedical supplies and durable equipment to Upper County clients.

Make limited deliveries to clients.

Maintain supplies and equipment levels in the Upper County office to meet the needs of clients.

Assist in Upper County events and volunteer recruitment activities.

Essential Functions:

Deliver services for clients from the Upper County office, one day a week, including limited deliveries to client homes.

Maintain paramedical supplies and equipment inventories to meet the needs of Upper County clients.

Track supplies/equipment for Upper County clients.

Remain caring and supportive in interactions with patients, volunteers, and other members of the Home Health and Hospice team.

Answer the Hospice Friends phone on the days of the week the Upper County office is open Tuesdays and Wednesday.

Provide information to maintain accurate up-to-date patient and volunteer records for periodic review.

Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ability to be organized and to work in a fast-paced office with frequent interruptions.

Applicants should have a minimum of three years of office experience and two years’ experience working with others.

A strong philosophical commitment to the mission and objectives of Hospice Friends.

A working knowledge of Hospice Friends and/or experience working with a similar organization is preferred.

Strong office computer experience required, including working in Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft programs.

Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.

Ability to shovel snow, salt the sidewalks and walk up a steep incline.

Ability to clean Durable Medical Equipment with Bleach.

Position requires valid Washington State Driver’s License and requires insurance coverage. Candidate must have a personal vehicle available for use; Hospice Friends will reimburse mileage at the current rate set by the Internal Revenue Service for Charities.

Two years of higher education. Professional experience may be acceptable in lieu of a higher education.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Desired:

The candidate needs to be enthusiastic, people-oriented and must work well as part of a team.

Need to be comfortable with death-related issues and emotions.

Excellent communication and record-keeping skills required.

Ability to manage personal stress and multiple work demands simultaneously, particularly in the context of death and dying.

Applicant must be self-motivated and able to work independently.

Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
