DESCRIPTIION – PROPERTY MAINTENCE

Main Function/Position Summary

The Maintenance person will act independently reporting to the farm manager assisting in the any and all duties necessary to keep the facility in full operation. Friendly person who likes working with people, animals, lawn keeping and special projects. The duties listed below are not set forth for purposes of limiting the assignment of work. They should not be construed as a complete list of the various duties normally performed.

Cut grass, using walking type or riding mowers.

Trim hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds and walls, using hedge trimmers, clippers, edging tools, chain saws, electric weed cutters and hands to pull weeds.

Maintains, tools and equipment, keeping clean, in working order and stored after use.

Plants crops, flowers, trees, waters with watering system, by hand and fertilizes.

Assists with property attractions maintaining safety and appearance.

Repair fences, painting, walkways and basic building needs (replacing lightbulbs and hanging decorations).

Works with manager on planting calendar and inventory order lists.

Keeps restrooms tidy, assists in store, restaurant unloading inventory, empty trash cans and special projects as needed.

Maintains animal records, collects eggs, feeds and waters animals keeping barn area tidy.

May use business vehicles to conduct company business.

Physical Effort:

May lift or push up to 50 lbs, and able for extended periods of time to stand, walk, squat, kneel, sit, bend, reach and climb.

Working Conditions:

Work areas may include all areas of the facility. May be exposed to loud music and action of guests, able to work nights and weekends.

Education: None required., knowledge of lawn equipment operation and some animal care is desired.
