Description:The Systems Security Engineer is a member of the System Performance team and will work closely with the other members of the team to maintain and enhance the consumer network information security program. The incumbent is responsible for all security related infrastructure incidents and will be supporting various security software and hardware. The Systems Security Engineer works closely with various members of Innovation, Operations and IT departments to deploy technical controls to meet specific security requirements and certifications. The incumbent follows processes and standards to ensure that security configurations and controls are maintained. The incumbent will work closely with the company’s business units advising them on risk management functions and performing security assessment reviews.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Evaluate current roadmap and architecture in relation to security products.• Develop and maintain a multiyear technology roadmap for all security related upgrades, be aware of the new releases as well as other products to ensure the company is using the best solution for our needs.• Deployment and operation of information security systems, including integration, testing, troubleshooting, and updating/upgrading of various security tools and appliances such as antivirus, IPS, malware detection tools, DLP, Identity and Access Management and encryption tools.• Maintains existing and future security systems such as IPS/IDS, antivirus, SIEM, NAC and other cyber-attack detection and analytics tools; responsible for full lifecycle of security technologies including deployment, conguration, troubleshooting, maintenance, patching/upgrading and decommission.• Works with internal and external audit rms and regulators along with our compliance department to ensure the networks meet regulatory guidelines and to protect our customer’s information. Works with technology services sta and Systems Architect to remediate audit ndings and recommendations.• Coordinate responses to security related incidents with IT, legal, and internal audit departments• Create, manage, and maintain security awareness program for employees• Handle low to complex resolution of security related tickets• Perform control and vulnerability assessments to identify control weaknesses and assess the effectiveness of existing controls, and recommend remedial action• Assist in the development of security architecture and security policies, principles and standards• Proactively research and stay up to date with the latest security issues• A working knowledge of several storage platforms including but not limited to vMAX, VNX, Data Domains and Isilon.• Help define and deploy security configurations and operations standards for security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances, and host-based security systems• Work extensively with development staff (all applications) and assist in resolution of hardware/software platform problems in complex, layered, client/server-based software.• Frequently interact with third-party technology vendors and internal facilities staff.• Lead discussions with other internal team members and with business partners to identify areas for improvement• Serve as mentor to the other Network Systems Engineers• Act at Technical Lead for projects assigned to the department• Maintain compliance with the internal ATC data security standards, policy and controls.• Responsible for the daily management and configuration including preparing weekly reports from various security auditing and monitoring solutions used. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:• NoneQUALIFICATIONS:• Excellent organizational skills• Excellent written and communication skills• Strong analytical skills• Ability to interact with personnel at all levels and across all business units and organizations, and to understand business imperatives• Ability to work individually and in team settings with cross-functional teams• Excellent technical knowledge of mainstream operating systems (i.e. Microsoft Windows and Linux) and a wide range of security technologies, such as network security appliances, Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, Security Information Event Management Tools (SIEM), anti-malware solutions, automated policy compliance and desktop security tool• Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines• Extensive knowledge of Windows Server Platforms• Knowledge of various SAN and Storage Array Products• Knowledge of VMware and virtualization platforms.• In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methods and technologies• The incumbent must be flexible as there may be workweeks that require more than 40 hours to ensure the position expectations and responsibilities are met.• Knowledge of Information Security Standards (ISO 27001/27002, SOC, ITIL, etc.)EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience• Minimum five years IT or network security experience required• CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional) or CISA (Certified Information Security Auditor) Certification strongly preferred• Check Point, RSA, Fortinet, Symantec Endpoint Protection Microsoft System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection and Sourcefire experience preferred• Experience with firewall such as Palo Alto and Fortinet preferred• Experience in developing, documenting and maintaining security policies, processes, procedures and standardsENVIRONMENT:Approximately 95% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Approximately 5% travel required. Position will be based out of our Cary, NC office. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and finger to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hears. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
