The Enterprise Data Architect will be part of the IT Enterprise Data Services team focused on data strategy, integration, analytics, and platform management. This position can be located in Novi, MI or Maumee, OH.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute thought leadership in development and evolution of our Enterprise Data Services capabilities and strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external personnel, including system architects, software developers, database administrators, design analysts and information modeling experts to determine project requirements and capabilities.
  • Design relational databases to support business enterprise applications and physical data modeling according to project requirements for data acquisition and security as well as customer-defined deliverables.
  • Research new technologies, data modeling methods and information management systems to contribute to and evolve the data & analytics strategy.
  • Review existing data architectures to determine overall effectiveness and compliance with original objectives, develop comprehensive strategies for improving or replacing underperforming.
  • Develop architectural strategies for data modeling, design, and implementation to meet stated requirements for metadata management, operational data stores and Extract Transform Load environments
  • Develop a logical data model that represents all data assets across the application landscape.
  • Identify all master data elements that are shared throughout the application landscape.
  • Document data lineage across the application landscape and establish processes for maintaining data integrity throughout the landscape.
  • Maintain the data catalogue to enable easy identification of systems of record and systems of reference.
  • Establish reusable integration patterns for maintaining systems integrations, master data management and analytical solutions.
  • Design reusable analytical data models within SAP HANA, SQL Server and PowerBI.
  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data for analytical and integration use cases.

Requirement:

EducationBachelor’s Degree in a business or technical discipline required.

Experience
  • 5-7 years related professional experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of IT experience as a data architect or data modeler.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and SAP HANA database platforms
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, DataBricks, PySpark, and AzureSQL for data processing
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI for analytics.
  • Technical experience in the development of Extract, Transform and Load solutions for the delivery of analytical solutions.
  • Technical experience with internet of things (IOT) and data streaming for connected products.
  • Technical experience in integration patterns, SOA governance, and information modeling that pertains to systems integration
  • Knowledge of cloud integration (iPaaS), service enablement (API), the data integration disciplines of messaging (ESB) for real-time data propagation, service-oriented architecture (SOA) for information sharing, and extract, transfer and load (ETL) for data staging and movement

Language Skills
  • English (fluency in reading, writing, and speaking)

Certifications
  • None Required

  • Definition of dataflows and supporting data processing operations
  • Creation of database design models (3NF, Star Schema, Snowflake, etc.)

Travel
  • Periodic U.S. and International travel will be required
