- Communication – This is incredibly important. The candidate should be like native fluent in English and understand what I am communicating to them. They should also be able to articulate their understanding, questions, and solutions well.
- Problem Solving – The candidate should be able to solve problem and think for themselves. They should be able to come up with different solutions to problems and identify the pros & cons of each one
- Self-motivated and proactive – I expect the candidate to own projects and initiatives. Thus, they will need to be able to drive these initiatives, reach out to people who they need involved and bring it to a conclusion
- Technical ability – Computer Science and engineering background. NOT just a developer/code monkey! Thus, their technical ability must be strong. The candidate should have a good understanding of common design patterns, data structures and object oriented programing. They should also be intimately familiar with the tools, libraries and concepts that their language provides.
- 6+ years of experience using .NET technologies with an emphasis on C#
- 3+ years’ experience creating/consuming web services and data
- 3+ years of experience in UI technologies like HTML5, CSS, SAAS, Java Script, Angular etc.
- 6+ months of experience in Angular 8 or above
- Solid understanding of common design patterns, data structures and object-oriented programming
- Excellent in analysis, technical design, development and problem-solving skills
- Database skills (preferably DB2, SQL Server) to design new or alter existing table structures to satisfy specifications and requirements
- Thorough understanding of web technologies and web architectures
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Experience with agile methodologies
- Prior work on client-facing websites in the banking/brokerage industry a plus
