Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant works in conjunction with the Accounting team and will assist with the day-to-day operations and perform various tasks for the Accounting department.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Specifically, the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

Post vendor invoices and retail sales

Perform monthly bank reconciliations

Perform monthly retail inventory reconciliations and related adjustments

Assist with miscellaneous month end account reconciliations and journal entries

Act as company liaison with our merchant service providers and assist with necessary reconciliations of credit card transactions

Assist with annual retail budget preparation

Assist with interim and monthly retail financial reports including sales flash reports

Assist with developing best practices as to retail accounting practices and processes

Other duties as periodically assigned by your manager

Required Qualifications:

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field of study and 2+ years working experience in an accounting department with increasing responsibility

Strong oral and written communication skills

Excellent time management skills; ability to be proactive and take initiative

Excellent organization and coordination skills; detail oriented & able to manage priorities and routine functions effectively and efficiently

Proficiency with computers and associated programs (Windows, Microsoft office suite of programs)

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
