DESCRIPTION OF WINERY: We are estate producers with a world-class reputation focused on cabernet sauvignon, syrah, pinot noir and chardonnay at the highest levels. Based in Santa Barbara County, we maintain and foster relationships both nationally and internationally. We run a small team that is dedicated, smart and a pleasure to work with. We strongly believe in the advancement of our team members and providing the tools they need to grow into future responsibilities and therefore seek individuals who wish to challenge themselves. This spring, we begin a new venture with the opening of our one-of-a-kind hospitality facility located at our estate in the Sta. Rita Hills.

PRIMARY ROLES: We are seeking to expand our team with a range of roles in our hospitality and private sales department. Roles span a range from relatively entry level to more experienced positions with a pathway to management. These positions will play a key role in nurturing a vibrant community culture through unique tasting experiences & events. Successful candidates must be dedicated and focused individuals looking for advancement and a work ethic that makes that evident. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of an incredible team and a new chapter for JONATA & The Hilt Estate.

POTENTIAL POSITIONS:

- Estate Host (Part Time & Full Time)

- Lead Estate Host (Part Time & Full Time)

- Assistant Hospitality Manager (Full Time)

HIRE DATES: We expect to add positions between April 1st and July 1st, 2021 depending on role and additional hiring may take place later in the fall.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A basic knowledge of wine and the Santa Barbara region and the desire to continue to grow that knowledge (expanding personal wine knowledge is a part of our company culture)

A genuine desire to be in the service of others

Hospitality experience (wine industry, restaurant or hotel)

Wine production experience or event management experience is a plus

Possess excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

Highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work in a diverse environment

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Experience with winery POS systems, shipping logistics management and ShipCompliant knowledge is a plus

The ability to learn new software programs quickly and accurately

Must possess a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and have reliable transpiration

Must be able to work daily from the Santa Ynez Valley

Must be willing to travel on occasion as needed including out of the County (Los Angeles County being a likely travel location on occasion)

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and spend considerable time standing for the purposes of hosting

Must be 21 years of age or older

Experience with social media a plus but not required

SCHEDULE: Final work schedule will be based on Tasting Room hours and will include weekends and evenings and may include holidays. Full-time and part-time positions will very in days and hours worked.

LOCATION: All positions will be based on site at our estate winery located on the outskirts of Lompoc in the Sta. Rita Hills.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

- Wages DOE based on the following positions:

- Estate Hosts beginning at $16+ hr. plus additional earning potential (commissions)

- Lead Estate Hosts beginning at $18+ hr. plus additional earning potential (commissions)

- Assistant Hospitality Manager beginning at $20+ hr. plus additional earning potential (commissions)

- Full-time employees are eligible for benefits and paid vacation after probation period
