The Villas in Honolulu, Hawaii is looking for a Unit Coordinators to help us with sourcing, locating, and recruiting talented, best qualified, and culture-add candidates who embrace Ohana's mission and values. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing and the indirect supervision of the Nurse Manager, performs various clerical duties relating to LTC guest records and maintains effective and efficient clerical systems pertaining to guest clinical information. Answers telephone. Schedules and coordinates guest appointments. Ensures adequate supply of necessary forms and other items required to provide standard medical record documentation. Performs job duties in accordance with Villas Core Values.

Shift: Part-time (20 hours or more) Monday - Friday evenings (5:00pm - 9:00pm) and On-call Sat/Sun 8:30am - 5pm (2 positions) Sat/Sun 2:00pm - 1030pm (1 position)

Duties include but are not limited:

Maintains the current guest clinical records in accordance with requirements. All forms in guest records contain all guest information (name, number, room and physician); special alerts are on binder; records are placed in the assigned sections in each binder with most recent records located on the top of each section; blank Physician's Order Sheet,

Coordinates lab, x-ray, therapy, outpatient visits, and files patient information.

Maintains a current physician recertification visit log and Physical Exam log.

Ensures that telephone orders are signed and dated by the physician and placed in the medical record within thirty (30) days of issuance.

Audits charts at least monthly to assure that PPD, x-ray, H&P, certifications and recertifications and all physician orders are dated and signed.

For new admissions; receives chart from Medical Records and prepares identification band for guest; Prepares any pertinent signs for guest's room; inserts forms in appropriate binders/folders; insert new forms into Vital Signs and Weight Binder; preps requisitions and schedules / record all ordered evaluations, OPV's, labs and x-rays in appropriate binders.

In the event a guest requires transfer to an acute facility, provide charge nurse with required documents,

Answers phones, maintains manuals, works on special projects, and attends staff and departmental meetings.

Requirements:

High School Diploma

Minimum of 1 year of clerical experience

Medical clerical preferred.

Proficient in English language, both written and verbal.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to use a multi-line telephone system. Experience with medical terminology preferred.

First Aid and CPR preferred. (can be done in-house).

Must have current medical/health screening including 2 step TB clearance (can be done in-house).
