Legacy Hilo in Hilo, Hawaii is looking for a Part-time Dietitian to help us with sourcing, locating, and recruiting talented, best qualified, and culture-add candidates who embrace Ohana's mission and values. Coordinate all phases of nutrition care including nutrition assessment, care planning, monitoring, education and counseling of clients. Assume the responsibility, and accountability of implementing the food and nutrition services/dietary department. Develop programs and processes to focus on improving customer service in food service operations and food delivery options to the residents. Performs job duties in accordance with Ohana Pacific Management Company's Mission, Vision, Core Values and Core Behaviors.

Shift: Part-time (20 hours/week)

Duties include but are not limited:

Provides nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy integrated with the client's care plan goals.

Works with COO and program management team to implement food service goals and achieve outcomes. Works with Ohana Pacific Management Company and program personnel to implement identified practices, systems, policies and procedures.

Guides staff in monitoring client nutritional care outcomes and taking appropriate action.

Provides feedback to the staff on issues that are nutritionally significant to assist the team in understanding the various dietary needs that residents may exhibit; enhancing the care plan process through feedback.

Guides and assists with implementation of dietary and food service policies and procedures. Ensures staff is trained on changes.

Develops, implements, reviews and updates food services and nutritional care policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety standards and ensures staff is informed of all updates and changes.

Provides dietary services to include nutritional assessments, care planning and consultation regarding dietary services.

Develops and participates in in-service training programs for staff as needed. Serves as an educational resource and is available for consultation to the facility staff.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major studies in food and nutrition, management, or relevant studies.

Minimum of 2 years of food service experience in a health care program, preferably long-term care.

2 years of supervisory experience in a health care program preferred.

Maintains the required continuing education hours with Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) for registration.

Registered with the American Dietetic Association and licensed in accordance with the laws of the State of Hawaii.

First Aid and CPR preferred. (can be done in-house).

Must have current medical/health screening including 2 step TB clearance (can be done in-house).
