Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Adoption Coordinator position is responsible for providing individual, family, and group counseling to clients who are seeking to adopt children of all ages- domestically, both in-state and out-of-state. The Adoption Coordinator is also responsible for the recruitment and development of adoptive families for the purpose of preparing the family to care for a child in need of a permanent home.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Complete adoption assessments, updates and addendums as assigned by supervisor

· Assist in recruitment and marketing activities as needed

· Coordinate family intakes

· Maintain chart compliance

· Complete 8-10 special need adoption placements annually

· Provide post-placement services to families as needed

· Prepare monthly reports of client services

· Co-lead Impact trainings as needed

· Conduct orientation sessions with families as assigned by supervisor

· Assist in the facilitation of interstate compact cases on an as needed basis

· Carry out other assigned tasks based on need of unit as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

· Master’s degree in Social Work or related field

· LMSW, LCSW, LAPC, LPC, LAMFT, or LMFT licensed by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage/Family Therapist

· Licensed eligibility within 6 months of hire

· A minimum of 2 years of experience in adoption work or related field

· IMPACT Trained (preferred)

· SAFE Trained (preferred)
