Restaurant General Manager

Reports to: The Worker-Owners

Compensation: Hourly $18- $20/hr based on experience

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant General Manager (RGM) with outstanding organizational and leadership skills to manage and assist in transitioning a well known and loved catering company into a brick and mortar restaurant; helping us to streamline our processes to be effective and aligned with our goals. The general manager will work closely with the worker-owners as well as the HR director to oversee the operational integrity of the cooperative.

Duties of the Restaurant General Manager will include restaurant inventory, bar management, working with the kitchen manager for weekly food orders, awareness and management of profit and loss, scheduling, training and integrating new employees, as well as providing excellent customer service. The RGM will also be responsible for identifying structural and operational problems and collaborating with worker-owners, other managers, and staff to develop solutions .

The RGM will work closely with worker-owners and other managers of the cooperative to ensure that all communications with partners, providers, clientele , and staff are timely, accurate, and effective.

Responsibilities:

-Communicating with & coaching all staff

-Assisting/advising restaurant staff in day-to-day coordination & business operational activities.

-Monitoring and managing business operations to meet client expectations & collective goals.

-Build & maintain strong staff relationships through regular meetings & communications.

-Identifying problems in the operations process & resolving them in a quick and timely manner.

-Maintaining clear & accurate operations documents/procedures for reference purposes.

-Maintaining restaurant schedule managing this information flow to all staff

-Communicating clearly and working well with other managers to establish systems and protocols.

-Following and developing operational, safety & mechanical protocols

-Helping with training of FOH staff to ensure clear and consistent standards.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

3-10 years professional team management experience

Good Judgement

Participation in opening a restaurant is a huge plus.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs
