Job Description

Position Summary:

1. Responsible for the overall management of Sexual Assault Survivors Services of the Cora Lamping Center program.

2. Oversees and coordinates the day to day operations of all Sexual Assault Survivors Services including the oversight and supervision of staff and the 24-hour crisis line in compliance with all accreditation, regulatory, and funding requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for training and supervision of Sexual Assault Survivors Services Advocates and volunteers.

2. Responsible for ensuring coverage of the Sexual Assault crisis hotline and all other program components.

3. Will dispatch Sexual Assault Survivors Services Advocates to accompany survivors and provide advocacy through medical, criminal justice and social support systems, including medical facilities, law enforcement and court proceedings.

4. Will ensure that Sexual Assault Survivors Services Advocates are able to respond within 1 hour of being contacted.

5. Responsible for providing in person (or via internet) crisis intervention, short-term individual and group counseling support services.

6. Responsible for ensuring the following services are provided to clients as appropriate:

a. Emergency financial assistance

b. Transportation

c. Child care

d. Respite care

e. Job training

f. Legal Advocacy

g. Employment Services

h. Financial literacy

i. Economic empowerment by helping link survivors to available financial support.

7. Will provide information about and referral to other organizations to assist survivors and non-offending family or household members.

8. Will provide culturally specific outreach and intervention to link survivors to existing services in the community tailored to the needs of culturally specific populations.

9. Will oversee assistance to injured sexual assault survivors in completing the Crime Victim Compensation application.

10. Will coordinate the development and distribution of outreach materials to increase public awareness of available services.

11. Oversees the daily operations utilizing “Empowerment Model” as required by contract.

12. Assists with grant management for Sexual Assault services.

13. Follows all VOCA grant goals, objectives and outcomes.

14. Completes all VOCA required electronic reports within seven (7) days of calendar month end.

15. Completes all VOCA time sheets weekly.

16. Collaboration with the Director of Programs and Executive Director to ensure that program is directed by agency goals and priorities as indicated in the Board of Directors Policy Governance Model.

17. Must be able to maintain professional boundaries.

18. Will obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.

19. Will attend New Service Provider Training.

20. Represent agency to other organizations as assigned.

21. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Good verbal and written communication skills.

2. Good organizational skills.

3. Ability to communicate with people from diverse cultures.

4. Knowledge of services available within the community.

5. Current knowledge of Sexual Assault, trauma and survivor healing dynamics.

6. Ability to use Information Technology, including the Internet, social media, and Microsoft Office Suite software.

7. Willingness to learn required program software applications.

8. Ability to enter progress notes and statistics via computer.

Minimum Education and Experience:

1. Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Women’s Studies, Sociology or related field (LMSW preferred).

2. Counseling / psychotherapy and case management experience.

3. Experience training and working with volunteers.

4. Experience with program development and management.

5. Experience with diverse cultures, especially with Hispanic, LGBTQ and homeless constituents.

6. Spanish proficiency is strongly desired.

Special Conditions of Employment:

1. Valid Driver’s License, a working motor vehicle, and proof of current vehicle insurance.

2. Undergo and successfully pass a State of Michigan LIEN Check and Central Registry Clearance.

3. Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Screen.

4. Negative TB Test upon hire with follow-up TB tests as required by The Avenue policy.

5. Undergo a background check with no recent felony convictions and no abuse/neglect convictions.

6. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings, weekends and holidays, as necessary.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position. Annual Salary is $44,000.00
