We are looking foraIT Architectto support ourIT Department.Responsibilities:

  • Enhance IT as a business service provider.To facilitate the requirements of the business and determine an applicable implementation within the existing infrastructure, support and development frameworks. This includes the following high-level tasks
  • Determination of business requirements in the short (12 months) medium (36 months) and long (60 months) terms and how they relate to the IT operations and future planning.
  • Listens closely to the business to determine their primary areas of concern, and suggests ways that that IT division may work to facilitate their particular needs.
  • Significant contributions to the planning and scoping of IT goals overall.
  • Functions in coordination with the IT division as a forward-facing entity to the business, with the ability to define and explain the implications of various technology approaches.
  • Contribute to organizational future state and strategy.To organize and define future IT division direction to modernize the existing systems and place us in a position to be ready for the future.
  • To keep an eye toward the future and understand new technologies on the horizon, and depict their impact to the organization in a digestible format to key stakeholders within the IT division and beyond.
  • To develop and lead key initiatives with regard to business and technical requirements, and interface with leadership within the IT division and external to it.
  • Positions the IT organization to be able to rapidly adapt to changing business conditions.
  • Provides recommendations and go-forward strategies with regard to the disposition of existing systems and their maintenance cycles.
  • Understands that these contributions may require one to step well outside of their particular vertical (development/infrastructure/process design) in order to provide the best possible product to the team and the organization.
  • Lead an assigned area of evaluation and development of enterprise long-term strategic/operating plan to ensure that EA objectives and IT approaches are consistent with long-term business objectives.
  • Be a key contributor to becoming a service-oriented enterprise.To help the IT division leadership transform the IT organization in the direction of a service-oriented enterprise architecture and application delivery.
  • Executes on framework established to control the deployment of new IT technologies into the enterprise, reducing overall risk and ensuring supportability for the future.
  • Looks out across the organization and leads efforts to remove inefficiencies, and introduce process improvements.
  • Seeks to move the organization toward a more scalable, supportable, and sustainable atmosphere overall.
  • Perform the role of a Solution Architect throughout the SDLC process
  • Transform business requirements into technical solutions, integrating all platforms to provide an end-to-end solution.
  • Participate in the COTS evaluation and implementation.
  • Champion and promote EA Governance
  • Design, implement, execute EA governance best practices and ensure compliance.
  • Provide architectural consultation across the organization.
  • Develop proof-of-concept prototypes and initial implementation models.
  • Coach and mentor Junior IT architects.
  • Work with resource managers, project managers, and all IT teams in providing oversight, evaluation of proposed change requests / projects ensuring alignment with overall IT roadmap.
  • Work with IT management to improve the processes and implementation of best practices.
  • Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as an Enterprise Architect and eight plus years in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations
  • ERP deployment and development experience.
    • Experience with ERP in a wholesale/retail environment is a plus.
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus.
  • Experience in integrating multiple disparate systems which are custom-developed.
  • Experience using Progress OpenEdge platform a plus.
  • Development experience and knowledge a plus.
  • Systems Infrastructure knowledges a plus.
  • Ability to advise and implement recommended enterprise architecture strategies, processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to participate and lead assignments for evaluation and development of enterprise long-term strategic/operating plans to ensure that EA objectives and IT approaches are consistent with long-term business objectives.
  • Prior experience as a contributor to the development of technology roadmaps in support of IT's vision and strategy.
  • Ability to materially participate in the development of architecture blueprints for related systems.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
  • Good understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models.
  • Understanding of agile methods and processes, and capability of supporting agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills.
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
