- 5+ years of relevant product management experience working in information technology
- Maintain understanding of product lifecycle
- Experience working on solutions involving Supply Chain Management
- Ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
- Working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
- Preferred - prior experience working in software development and/or programming
- Responsible for gathering input from a variety of internal and external sources to define product concepts; responds to the needs of customers throughout the development process
- Analyzing competitors and market trends
- Evaluating new and existing technologies in the industry
- Developing detailed requirements, feature definitions, implementation plans, and internal communications
- Present and secure approval from senior management and other key stakeholders, as necessary. Create business case for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
- Balance priorities across the Supply Chain portfolio to identify, recommend and prioritize key opportunities between the business units, communicating decisions and trade-offs. To this end, you will maintain a prioritized backlog for each community of product stakeholders.
- Advise the business and provide suggestions for Supply Chain opportunities, based on detailed knowledge of existing data, business objectives and available technology
- Maximize and manage P&L for product line and articulating the competitive marketplace by comparing with those of competitors. This covers value to customers from a feature vs. price perspective
- Responsible for communicating product solutions and benefits to customers and stakeholders; including knowledge transfer and training for on-going management of features and successfully champion new initiatives to leadership team
- Manage expectations (negotiating appropriately - right people and right time, where necessary) to ensure a common understanding of where, when, and how the business user stories can be prioritized optimally
- Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
- Act as the product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
