Data Engineers will deliver business value by designing, building, and optimizing enterprise data pipeline systems for analytic/operational use. This data preparation work varies in complexity and speed based on numerous factors and stages with the data lifecycle, but the primary tasks handled by data engineers will include data integration, consolidation, cleansing, analysis, and process optimization for purpose. This activity will require strong technical skills within specific data and engineering domains and will be guided by industry standards such as SWEBOK, DMBOK and/or following industry best practices.Involved in strategic and tactical engineering and architectural activities of a team or car on an Agile Release Train (ART), with primary involvement and focus on engineering. Develops knowledge of multiple technologies and emerging technologies to support strategic initiatives.
WHAT YOULL DO:- Use models as a starting point for designing and developing technologies that enable new or enhance existing business capabilities
- Evaluate options; performs tradeoff and cost benefit analyses
- Emphasize the use of a disciplined process when creating and implementing designs and operates effectively as part of a team in doing so
- Create and reuse designs and design artifacts
- Use patterns and frameworks to develop, support and solve problems for enterprise level applications supported by a team
- Experiment at a team level with emerging technologies to understand how they will impact what comes next
- Translate business/user requirements into technical requirements, and applies creative problem solving that bring these requirements to fruition for a team
- Prioritize the use of frameworks and patterns to produce efficient code
- Experienced with production data pipeline development, automation, and implementation over the last five or more years with:
- AWS Tech Stack - S3, Lake Formation, Glue, Athena
- IAM, Cloud Development Kit (CDK), SQS & SNS would be a plus
- Snowflake preferred, Redshift second and a familiarity with common analytic data warehousing patterns
- Production implemented AWS data engineering experience
- DevOps, CI/CD experience
- Programming Languages commonly used in data engineering such as
- Python
- TypeScript
- SQL
- AWS Tech Stack - S3, Lake Formation, Glue, Athena
- Has experience collaborating with numerous enterprise partners aligned to data science, architecture, governance, infrastructure, and security to apply standards and optimize production environments and practices
- Collaborates with business owners to optimize data collection, storage and usage to maximize the value of information within supported systems
- Implements data pipelines, data sourcing, cleansing, augmentation and quality control processes within supported data systems

- AWS Data Lake, AWS streaming data and Data Vault architectural experience is a plus
- Strong experience in traditional data technologies/methodologies (RDBMS, SQL, ETL/ELT, traditional data architectures) and/or emerging data science technologies/methodologies (data science, programming languages, distributed systems, machine learning, cloud platform technology)
- Strong experience in analyzing data systems for grain, relationship, context, and impact to connected systems, to develop optimal pipelines that meet functional business requirements.
- Strong experience developing and documenting technology recommendations, vendor assessments, and designing complex data system interdependencies
- Able to maintain data quality through systematic approaches and methodologies (e.g. MDM) within supported data systems
