Eldorado Grill has been a Madison staple for over 22 years and is currently closed as we focus on renovating the space and menu to reopen in the spring of 2021. Eldorado Grill’s future will focus on traditional upscale Mexican food with a full-service craft cocktail bar. We are looking for a dedicated General Manger with experience in full-service upscale restaurant management and creative mindset that can adapt to opening a reimagined restaurant.

The General Manager oversees the entire restaurant operation, including the FOH, BOH, training, finance, payroll, and employee development. The General Manager must meet or exceed budgeted goals, including revenue, profit, and cost control. The General Manager is responsible for the oversight of all marketing, promotion, training, hospitality, and the overall health of the business.

Essential Functions:

Establishes restaurant business plan by surveying restaurant demand; conferring with people in the community; identifying and evaluating competitors; preparing financial, marketing, and sales projections, analyses, and estimates.

Meets restaurant financial objectives by developing financing; preparing strategic and annual forecasts and budgets; analyzing variances; starting corrective actions; establishing and monitoring financial controls; developing and implementing strategies to increase average meal checks.

Attracts patrons by developing and implementing marketing, advertising, community relations programs;testing program results; identifying and tracking changing demands.

Controls purchases and inventory; reviewing and evaluating consumption reports; analyzing variances; taking corrective actions.

Maintains operations by preparing policies and standard operating procedures; implementing production, productivity, quality, and guest-service standards; determining and implementing system improvements.

Maintains guest satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings; starting improvements; building relationships with guests.

Accomplishes restaurant and bar staffing objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.

Maintains safe and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with health and legal regulations; maintaining security systems.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; taking part in professional groups.

Accomplishes company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Job Requirements:

Good tenure at past employers.

3+ years of Restaurant Manager experience.

Success in leading teams of 20+ employees.

Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills Cost accounting.

Obtain a serve safe certificate (within 90 days of employment).

Expected to attain the agent liquor license for your restaurant location (within 90 days of employment).

Core competency skills:

Provide Leadership: must be a role model with strong leadership skills as it relates to training, coaching, development and corrective action.

Drive Sales: identify local opportunities to increase sales and provide excellence guest service to ensure repeat business.

Control Cost: work directly with vendors in a professional, respectful manner. Able to understand and analyze P&L to decide and cut waste.

Lead by example- arrives to work on time and in work-ready condition. Follow all rules, policies, and procedures of employment outlined in the Employee Handbook. Follow all uniform and appearance guidelines as benefitting the image of the restaurant for the duration of the shift. Get along with others and be a team player.

Time Management- accurately keep track of all hours worked, PTO hours and other absences according to company policy.
