Systems Engineer/Architect - Active TS/SCI Required

Description Job Description:The System Engineer/Architect will join the NMIC Information Technology Enterprise Services (NITES) team and will serve as a System Engineer/Architect for the Maritime Intelligence Environment (MIE) Systems Support Task. All work is onsite in Suitland, MD, A candidate must have an active TS/SCI to be considered. Primary ResponsibilitiesIdentify client needs and design, propose, and implement solutions, including writing recommendations, specifying equipment, and assisting with or directly writing proposals.Provide superb technical system and user support, both to your designated clients and to all clients whose projects you participate in.Establish, maintain, and increase client satisfaction through professional, courteous, and caring service.Troubleshoot and resolve client network and computer system issues.Manage or coordinate installation, upgrade, or deployment projects, including providing on-site direction for additional network engineers.Assist network engineers in troubleshooting difficult or time-sensitive problems.Basic QualificationsBS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering (or related discipline) and 8+ years of relevant work experienceA minimum of CCNA, CAP or Security+ industry certification Data map creation and maintenance for data ingest processesExperience developing and applying requirements; testing expertise to include application and system documentationExperience with systems engineering and administration in a Linux and UNIX (Solaris 10+) environment including shell script development and debugging.Experience with systems engineering and administration on Windows 2008, 2012 and/or 2016 server.Experience in preparation of standard operating proceduresPossess an ability to communicate effectively with developers and translate that understanding into effective technical writing for non-technical end users.Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of the following electronic data interchange (EDI) structures: BAPLIE, CUSCAR, CODECO, COARRI, MOVINS External Referral Bonus:EligiblePotential for Telework:NoClearance Level Required:Top Secret/SCITravel:Yes, 10% of the timeScheduled Weekly Hours:40Shift:DayRequisition Category:ProfessionalJob Family:Systems EngineeringLeidos is a Fortune 500 ® information technology, engineering, and science solutions and services leader working to solve the world's toughest challenges in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets.
