About the team | Mō tō mātou rōpū

This is a large Group Services team led by a Group Services Manager and three Group Services Team Leaders. The team are hardworking, improvement-focused and have created a warm and supportive culture, where they celebrate and give their team members the opportunity to learn and grow.

Our ideal person will:

  • Have some tertiary work experience.
  • have a natural ability to build positive and effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • have an innate ability to multi-task, effectively manage a busy workload and prioritise well in order to meet deadlines.
  • have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work with different cultures.
  • excellent written and oral communication, and the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of the wider Faculty professional staff team.
  • be proficient in Microsoft applications including, Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word.

The key accountabilities of this role include:

  • providing general administrative support to academic staff and students.
  • ensuring courses are set up and published in the University’s Learning Management System, Canvas.
  • ensuring digital course outlines are completed.
  • compiling a list of Staff Student Consultative Committee representatives, setting up meetings, agendas and minute taking.
  • Supporting all examination processes, such as, compiling a list of examiners and assessors, exam paper formatting, final grades submission, test and exam aegrotat and compassionate applications and other activities focused around teaching support and course administration.
  • Coordinating and administering postgraduate dissertations and research projects, including nominations of examiners and assessors, and final result submission.

Candidates with knowledge and experience of Student Services Online (SSO), the University’s LMS system (CANVAS), SharePoint and proficiency in Microsoft suite of packages, particularly Teams will be strongly considered.
