Supervisor, Label Room (I)

Job Description

Under the supervision of the site Quality Manager, The Label Room Supervisor is critical to deliver labels on time and in full to operations to meet customer requirements, delivering superior customer service and balanced inventory goals. Label Room Supervisor is responsible for management of the Label Room and its staff.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage the label room staff
• Work with corporate site Planner to ensure availability of label to support the production plan
• Manage inventory accuracy in the label room
• Monitor the aging of the labels and facilitate activities to eliminate excess inventory
• Create and manage performance metrics and determine action plans and execute
• Initiate problem resolution, resolve routine questions and problems, refer more complex to a higher level
• Work closely with the Inventory team to ensure timely disposition of components including submitting them for destruction
• Ensure the destruction process is being followed within the label room accurately and timely
• Coordinate movement of labels between buildings
• Manage the master data attributes for the assigned area (such as the comments for the labels in the ERP systems)
• Act as a liaison between the Planning team and vendors to expedite the process if the vendors have questions/concerns in regards to releasing planned orders where the recommended quantity is concerning
• Foster collaborative vendor relationships
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis and provide insights to help resolve systemic issues with vendors
• Monitor purchase orders including acknowledgements, delivery, completion/closing & release of materials ensuring consistency between all systems (AS400, EBS, ASCP)
• Seek opportunities for continuous improvement of the assigned area
• Other duties may be assigned as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or relevant work experience
• 3 - 5 years in a manufacturing environment
• 2 - 4 years’ prior supervisory or other relevant experience
• Knowledge of AS400 and MRP/ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) preferred
• Exposure to procurement and planning activities
• Exposure to KPIs and Master Data Management
• Proficient with PC Programs (Word, excel, PPT) - especially with v-look up and pivot tables
• AS400 knowledge
• Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work with cross functional groups to implement improvements
• Ability to use influencing skills to accomplish goals and objectives
• Ability to support escalation process
• Ability to review data and understand its impact on the business
• Ability to work in fast moving dynamic environment
