Position: Executive Director, Open Door Health Clinic

A challenging opportunity for a person seeking management/administrative/healthcare employment

experience/ stepping-stone for future endeavors, and/or a recent retiree wanting to stay involved in the

community. The Executive Director reports directly to the board of directors.

Our Mission Statement: The Open Door mission is to provide basic medical care for low income people without insurance or readily accessible healthcare through the professional operation of a volunteer free community health clinic.

HISTORYOur clinic is a non-profit organization that has provided healthcare, free of charge, to the Central Washington community in Washington State since 1999. In accordance with the mission, Open Door has a vision to fill the gap in healthcare resources for those who are currently under-served. Through its devotion to achieve these ends, Open Door is confident it will benefit the multiple areas of industry, business, public service, academia and society in CentralWashington. Since its inception, Open Door has been devoted to helping others so they can in turn positively participate in the community.

Starting Date: Flexible, not later than May 1, 2021.Hours: S tarting at approximately 20-30 hours per week. As our programs and funding grow, the number of hours may also grow.Benefits: Generally flexible hours, ability to work from home occasionally, and room for growth into a full-time position.Pay: $15.00 per hour. As our programs and funding grow, pay may also increase.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :

Program Management: Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the organization and ClinicsSpecific activities include:

  • Manage Clinic Operations: currently Four in Ellensburg and two in Cle Elm every month for a total of Six monthly.
  • Maintain clinic communications and public relations through phone, mail, email and social media.
  • Maintaining patient records.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers.
  • Manage operating budget set by Board of Directors.
  • Develop and implement program evaluation tools and processes.
  • Compile periodic reports to the board.
  • Communicate with the board of directors regularly and attend monthly board meetings.

Fundraising: Develop and implement a fundraising plan that includes grants, private donations, and community fundraising activities.Specific activities include:

  • Assist in identifying funding sources for grants.
  • Lead grant application efforts.
  • Manage grants and grant reporting.
  • Meet with potential donors.
  • Manage outreach, marketing, fundraising promotions, and event planning.

Program Development:

  • Provide technical support to the Board regarding emerging local, state, and federal policies and programs related to healthcare Non Profit Organizations.
  • Meet regularly with ODHC partners and local government agencies to coordinate new development efforts.

Required qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree in a related field.(Willing to interview individuals with a bachelor's degree in progress)
  • Management, leadership, or program development experience.
  • Experience working or volunteering with vulnerable community members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and grant writing.
  • Ability to collaborate with others, and work with all volunteer support staff, providers and students in a positive environment.
  • Ability to work with and serve a diverse population.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and the internet.
  • Must pass a background check.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working or volunteering with Non Profit organizations.
  • A commitment to community-based programs and community development.
  • Creativity and a commitment to helping the organization grow.
  • A passion for learning and problem solving.
  • Ability to work under uncertainty.
  • Flexibility and commitment to grow with the position.
