Connecticut National Golf Club in Putnam, CT is looking to fill positions within the kitchen. CT National is a top public golf course in New England and hosts many events including weddings and golf outings.

Line Cook/Prep/Function Cook (PT/FT)

Description

We are looking for a skilled cook to prepare quick meals according to menu. You will need to be able to push out food quickly and efficiently in a fast paced environment.

The cook/cooks we are looking for must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be skillful in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.

Responsibilities

Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.

Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)

Cook food using various utensils or grillers.

Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.

Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.

Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.

Check quality of ingredients.

Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages.

Requirements

Proven experience as cook

Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware.

Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)

Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.

Ability to work in a team as well as working full shifts by yourself.

Excellent communication skills.

Good physical condition and stamina.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Diploma from a culinary school preferred.

Dishwashers (PT/FT)

We are looking for a dishwasher(s) that are able to maintain focus and be able to work diligently in our fast paced environment. Dishwashers will occasionally be asked to assist chefs in prep work and setup for events.
