We are a food service company that is currently seeking a Food Safety Specialist. This person will work directly with the Operations team to ensure that SOP’s, SSOP’s, and regulations are being followed and make updated in accordance with the latest Food Code and FSMA updates. Key responsibilities are listed below:

Responsibilities:

Ensure food items are clean and free of any pollutants and impurities so that the guests do not fall sick.

Make sure food is prepared as per the Food Operating Manual’s SSOP’s and SOP’s.

Collaborate with government agencies to ensure that all standards and regulations are met or exceeded.

Ability to act independently as well as with a team to ensure that all standards and corrective actions are fully investigated and corrected.

Recommend changes to processes as needed to ensure a safe food product.

Analyze audit results, trends, and investigations into trends

Perform quality control aspects as related to food safety.

Train and effectively communicate food safety policies and practices to all company employees

Develop and maintain policies, processes and training records to ensure better systems

Maintain all product safety programs and perform regular audits

Provide leadership on quality programs and training with business partners, including product accountability, net weight control, HACCP, GMPs and CCP’s.

Monitor, report, identify and direct appropriate corrective/preventive action plans with cross functional partners (Operations and Production).

Act as primary point of contact and leads Quality programs and training at manufacturing sites: product traceability, weight control, HACCP, GMPs, Sanitation and Regulatory Compliance.

Facilitate sharing of best practices between different sites

Provide audit support to sites and facilitate identified corrective/preventive action plans and develop strategy plan.

Oversee compliance responsibilities of the position; lead ethically; maintain an environment where employees can speak up without fear of retaliation; ensure employees in area of responsibility understand the compliance responsibilities of their jobs and actively participate in the compliance program.

Qualifications:

Degree in Food Safety or related field

Experience with High Risk Foods

Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize

Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Professional experience in quality and food safety

Excellent communication and leadership skills

HACCP certification by an accredited body
