Senior Network Security Engineerto join our team in a 100% Remote role! This is aContract-to-Permopportunity with our client, an established leader in the Digital Cloud industry. Our client, founded over 20 years ago, is using significant funding to expand their network, and they need your subject matter expertise on their Security Team! Youwill be responsible for the overall appliance infrastructure, design architecture and security policy implementation throughout thenetwork. Within theSecurity team, you will be the subject matter expert required to document corresponding technical solutions, process, and hardware layout(s). Responsibilities cover:- Security zones for all areas related to Voice, Data, and Corporate segments.
- The support and evaluation of next-generation deployments to include Firewall Virtualization, IPS/IDS, and WAF systems for the ongoing optimization of architecture.
- Leadership and Strategy
- Planning, managing, and participating in the diagnosis (current state), detailed design (future state) and deployment of security processes and technologies across Fusion network
- Assist and lead the business in strategic planning to include optimization, budget forecasting, process implementation, and integration planning
- Oversee the implementation of infrastructure security standards physical as well as logical
- Collaborate closely with other teams to find and coordinate subject matter experts for required technical or business needs
- Support individuals in the Data and Voice Services teams working on individual projects to ensure alignment with overall security goals
- Verify the security architecture implementation conforms to compliance standards
- Keep abreast of new and emerging technologies, perform evaluation, and make recommendations to leadership team for incorporation into architectural vision
- Facilitate teams for installation, monitoring, maintenance, support and optimization of all security-related components
- Must have 10 years of experience
- Mastery of security protocols and implementations including IPSec, NAT, ACLs
- Mastery of firewall technology (Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, etc.)
- Mastery of Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
- Mastery of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and Security Information / Event Managers
- Advanced knowledge in design of LAN and WAN solutions, including a strong working knowledge of data network equipment (routers, switches, etc.)
- Experience with DDoS detection & mitigation solutions. Hands on experience with the Netscout Arbor platform is a plus.
- Solid understanding of routing protocols and concepts (OSPF, BGP, RIP)
- Solid understanding of IP subnetting and switching concept
- Solid understanding of the entire OSI model
- Advanced knowledge of IT architecture standards and governance, with appropriate industry certifications
- College Degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems preferred, but not required.
- 10+ years of experience in the IT industry, with specific expertise in network security
- 5+ years of experience in network security
- Experience with federal, state and other regulations governing information (e.g., PCI)
- Experience in business process re-engineering
- Experience working in a managed services environment
- Fortinet NSE 4 Professional (or higher) certification
- CCSP (Cisco Certified Security Professional) certification
- CCIE Security (Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert)
- CISSP {Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- ITIL certification or similar experience in a delivery or service design role
