- Digital circuit design of Multi-Gigahertz processor and/or FPGA-based boards.
- Designed with DDR3 or DDR4 memory.
- Designed with Gigabit Ethernet.
- Designed with NOR flash memory.
- Designed with NAND flash memory.
- Designed with SRAM memory.
- Designed with Complex FPGA such as Xilinx/Altera/Microsemi.
- Designed in PCIe or other multi-Gigabit serial links.
- Signal integrity (SI) simulation using Mentor HyperLynx or similar SI tools.
- Timing analysis of data bus such.
- Channel simulation of multi-Gbit serial links using Mentor HyperLynx or similar SI tools.
- 3D simulation of structures using Mentor HyperLynx or similar SI tools.
- DC drop power integrity (PI) simulation using Mentor HyperLynx or similar SI/PI tools.
- AC decoupling power integrity (PI) simulation using Mentor HyperLynx or similar SI/PI tools.
- Designed PCB stack-ups, balancing signal integrity, power integrity, and fab considerations.
- Designed PCB routing requirements including impedance, trace widths, length matching for DDR.
- Power estimates of the board.
- Defining power supply requirements to the power supply designer.
- Derating component stress.
- Schematic capture using Mentor Designer or similar CAE tool.
- BS Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college, MSEE preferred.
- Independent and critical thinking.
- Sound technical writing and communication skills.
- Highly motivated digital design engineer that can work with little direction.
- Experience designing and/or debugging: UARTS, 1G Ethernet, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 664.
- Experience designing and/or debugging Open VPX and PIC-SIG (PCIe) standards.
- Experience in the Mil/Aero/avionics industry
