Work Schedule: M F (7:00am 4:00pm + on call); Sat Su (on call)F&M Bank's Supervisor, Core Systems & Computer Operations is a key leader within the Information Systems (IS) team and directly reports to the Bank's Chief Information Officer (CIO). The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team that supports specific aspects of F&M Bank's Information systems. A primary duty is the management of personnel responsible for information processing and the administration of the following systems: IBM iSeries computer, Jack Henry's SilverLake core accounting system and interactive voice response (IVR) system, HelpSystems Robot Software Suite, and Report Archive system (COLD).Duties include management, development, and mentoring of team members in addition to hands-on administration of the above-mentioned systems. The Supervisor, Core Systems & Computer Operations, plays a key role in the implementation and ongoing management of process automation systems within the Bank. Demonstrates independent thought and judgment in analyzing and assessing new information systems and solutions for possible implementation. Oversees technical support for Windows / iSeries automatic job scheduler. Exercises independent decision-making while resolving production issues. Ensures team effectively manages security for internal access to the systems administered. Identifies and assesses new software systems; particularly those relating to or interfacing with the SilverLake platform. Develops and defines procedures in accordance with Department and Bank policy. Ensures ongoing compliance with established Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and financial privacy policies and procedures. This role also serves as the Bank's Data Security Administrator.

What skills are needed?
  • Working knowledge of HelpSystems tools (Schedule, Console, Alert, Save), SQL, Client Access, and IBM iSeries strongly preferred. CL, PDM, and C# experience preferred
  • Ability to reformat third-party data and utilize appropriate tools to create reports, extract files, and automate data imports
  • Ability to critically think and show independent judgment when assessing and improving processes and procedures
  • Ability to exercise independent decision-making while resolving production issues
  • Detail-oriented and ability to organize and manage projects, prioritize workflows, and complete multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately
  • Ability to execute independent judgment when assessing new solutions for possible implementation and managing solution implementation projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional and effective manner
  • Exercises good judgment, initiative, and tact in interactions with management, supervisors, and employees

Also required/preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field from an accredited university or college preferred
  • 5 or more years experience with IBM iSeries or other midrange systems hardware, SQL, and database administration preferred
  • 2-3 years experience administering a core banking application; understanding of Jack Henry SilverLake systems preferred
  • 2-3 years experience in managing direct reports
