Senior Network EngineerPOSITION SUMMARYSUMMARY OF JOB:The Senior Network Engineer role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video and wireless network services. Assists with planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. Participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, provide end user training where required, apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues. Areas of responsibility include LAN/WAN, Firewall, Wireless, Storage Area Network provisioning, physical & virtual server maintenance & deployment, application server deployments & upgrades, Patch Management, Backup/Recovery, & Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity planning & testing.REQUIREMENTS:- 5 - 8 years of experience in Network Engineering or similar role.
- Certificate in Cisco Certified Network professional preferred
- 5-8 years of experience with network infrastructure implementation, maintenance, & troubleshooting.
- Experience with a substantial number of technologies including router, switch, next generation firewall, & wireless technology as well as a background and training in protocol analysis. Routers – Cisco IOS, Catalyst, DWDM Optical and Nexus as well as a strong working knowledge of 3 tiered architecture.
- Advanced technical computers skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systems
- Background in Wireless LAN, DHCP/DNS, Firewalls, VMware, Microsoft, and Network security required
- EMC VNX, VPLEX, ViPR storage management preferred.
LICENSE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:Cisco & Microsoft certifications preferred
