Description:This role will focus on the security side of the Network Services. They are seeking a resource that has experience within firewalls (Palo Alto) and understands SDWAN for virtualizing a network. There are currently 5 projects in flight that this person will be assisting and working with the Sr. Engineers. This role will work heavily with the InfoSec team and the Network Connectivity group on these projects. This role is currently 100% remote but would be expected to go onsite for escalated issues. Therefore, the Director wants this candidate to be local to the area. The Network Services teams just moved to a plan, build, run structure. This role is a part of the security focused team and will be 1 of 3 engineers that specialize in this area. Tools within environment:- Firewall implementation - Prime for Wireless network- Wireshark- F5 Viprion 2400. Replacing 2100 cards with 2250Hardware within environment:- Wireless versions: 5508, 5520, 8510- APS: 1131, 3802- Cisco: 3550 switches to 3850- Nexus: 2K, 5K, and 7K- Routing: OSPF- Catalyst: 6500, 6880, 6807Skills:Nsx, Asa firewall, Paloalto, Network securityTop Skills Details:1. Palo Alto firewall experience - day-to-day engineering knowledge:- writing the access control list and policies, NATs, utilize site to site VPNs, and remote access VPNs. - Being able to build out and standing up site-to-site VPNs from scratch (GlobalProtect)- Knowing how to create a standard access list from scratch - needing minimal help here (they will be trained on the environment)2. Networking - switches, routers, and general well-rounded network engineer. For example, tracking down a devices IP address to a network. 3. Troubleshooting escalated networking security issues - Tier II and IV escalations for access issues. For example, when access looks like it is there but the process isn't working - understanding why it's not working and troubleshooting this issue. Pluses and Nice to Haves:NSX Experience - Using tool for supporting the new virtual environment within their datacenter. VMware is involved with the build, so design experience is not needed but a plus. Enforcing the policies for securing the traffic between the VMs. Micro-Segmentation - Putting firewall at the edge of every server. Able to apply rule based to the traffic even though they are on the same subnet. Setting the policies. They are using Horizon 6.Additional Skills & Qualifications:This team focused on Network Security so must have firewall experience.
