ARBORIST / GROUND PERSON NEEDED

Established local company looking for a qualified Arborist Ground Person to fill an immediate opening.

We are seeking certified Arborists who has a passion for preserving and caring for trees for an immediate opening in Caldwell ID.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform all required ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by crew leader

Demonstrate high safety standards, sound tree risk assessment skills, equipment inspection skills, proper application of approved knots, proper climbing techniques and procedures, proper pruning and removal skills, and proper rigging skills

Operating bucket trucks, loaders, chippers, chainsaws and other related equipment

Learn, understand, and adhere to all safety rules and company safety policies

Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader or designated supervisor, Arborist Representative, or Local Manager

At least 1 year of climbing MRS or SRS (DdRT or SRT) and bucket operation experience in the tree care industry

A current driver’s license and clean driving record

Must be able to pass drug screens

PREFERRED:

CDL or ability to obtain

Over 3 years climbing experience

Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, or a related field is preferred but not required

ISA Arborist Certification is preferred but not required

We are additionally seeking a qualified Arborists Grounds Persons. This position will involve pruning and general maintenance of trees and shrubs on commercial and residential properties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Type: Full-time

Assist with the implementation of work zone safety procedures such as the placement of cones and signs, and the provision of flagging services

Assist climbers and crew leaders working on the ground and aloft

Operate and maintain chippers, chainsaws, and all other equipment safely

Assist with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties

Learn and demonstrate high safety standards, sound tree risk assessment skills, equipment inspection skills, proper pruning and rigging skills, and implementation of tree felling procedures

Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader or designated supervisor, Arborist Representative, or Local Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

Class A CDL or the ability to get one and a good driving record

Must be able to pass drug screens

Able to problem-solve and work with little supervision to complete assigned tasks

Able to perform heavy lifting

Available to work overtime when needed

Competitive wages/DOE

Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required
