Feltz’s Dairy Store is looking for a motivated, friendly, and detailed individual to assist in making farmstead cheese. As a new dairy plant, this job provides great opportunity to learn, grow, and advance in the cheese industry. This job starts at a minimum of $14/hour with potential to earn up to $20/hour depending on experience right away or in the near future.

Job duties: Specific tasks will vary depending on experience

- Cleaning, sanitizing, and prepping equipment

- Testing milk

- Pasteurizing batches of milk to use for cheese production

- Keeping detailed records of various items including cleaning records, ingredient lot numbers, temperatures, etc…

- Following specific instructions for making various kinds of cheese

- Transporting & packaging cheese

Job requirements: cheese production experience and/or a cheesemaker license is preferred, but not required as long as you are willing to learn!

- High school and college education is a plus

- Reading: ability to read labels, recipes, scales, and safety procedures

- Math: ability to count and execute basic math to ensure ingredients are added correctly

- Dependable and willing to learn

- Ability to follow and meet food safety practices

- Willingness to work early mornings and potentially some weekends

Physical Requirements:

- Standing/walking for 6+ hours daily

- Lifting 25-45lbs infrequently

- Some light overhead reaching & lifting
