Broadridge is growing. We're looking for a dynamic individual to join our Production Operations team in South Windsor CT as our next

Supervisor Production Mechanics. This opportunity is in our Customer Communications Solutions division, which offers a full range of multi-channel communications solutions such as integrated print, mail and digital solutions for transactional, marketing and compliance communications.

In this role you will provide direction and mechanical support to all production mechanics as required. Monitors all work in progress ensuring that a constant production workflow is maintained and equipment repairs are completed. Maintains our parts inventory for all equipment by providing a complete list of parts to be ordered, including the vendor to be used and the associated cost for each part.

Responsibilities

  • Early Week Nights Shift: 6pm-6am Sunday - Wednesday, alternating Saturdays
  • Span of control is approximately 10 - 14 technicians and all production equipment used by technical support and production operations. Position requires daily communication/ updates with senior management on strategic work scheduling issues.
  • Monitor records of preventive maintenance performed on equipment and ensures that the maintenance occurs according to scheduled deadlines.
  • Fills in and assumes all Management responsibilities in the Department Manager’s absence.
  • Accountable to meet or exceed Cost Per Unit targets on his/her shift (i.e. labor costs, overtime, inventory control etc.) Monitors and maximizes machine throughput.
  • Coaches, counsels, motivates, develops, supports, encourages and instructs all Technicians under direct report. Verifies all administrative work is filled out properly, monitoring and following departmental procedures. Reward, Recognizes and Disciplines associates.
  • Maintains all records pertaining to department personnel under individuals report.
  • Monitors daily reports on thruput and equipment downtime.
  • May perform other duties/responsibilities as needed or assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or Technical/Trade School
  • 3 years’ min. supervisory experience in a high volume production environment
  • 5+ years’ experience and a proven proficiency in the operation and repair of production equipment including insertion and bindery equipment, electronic and electric circuit experience necessary.
  • Electrical and electronics repair a plus.
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of reporting tools Jet/IQ
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office.
  • 40+ hours Safety Training Certification
  • 40+ hours external Certified Training on related equipment
  • 8+ hours Safety/Electrical Training
  • 16+ hours Recertification as needed on any/all existing training annually
