Prince's Paisley Park in Chanhassen, MN seeks a skilled and responsible general maintenance professional for the full-time role of Maintenance Technician. As a member of the Maintenance Team, this position performs a variety of general maintenance duties which include electrical, mechanical, carpentry and repair of museum facilities and grounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager of Paisley Park, assist with daily maintenance issues and ensure the issues are taken care of in a timely manner.

- Inspect buildings, electrical systems, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe, well-maintained conditions, identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repairs.

- Assist with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.

- Assist with resolving maintenance problems/complaints and/or refer to the appropriate person.

- Assist with all general repairs, preventive maintenance, and construction projects.

- Maintain proper security on buildings and properties as required.

- Perform a variety of locksmith duties; install, repair, and replace locks on doors.

- Inspect, service, and maintain operational functionality of doors and windows.

- Replace, update and maintain lighting needs.

- Assist with moving, loading, unloading, and storing supplies, furniture and equipment.

- Wear proper protective equipment while performing job duties (i.e., goggles, helmet, back brace, knee pads).

- Respond to 24-hour emergency calls when on call.

- Assist with all types of painting projects and gypsum board repair/installation.

- Empty trash and maintain outside perimeters of the property.

- Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.

- Monitors and maintains the safety conditions or property (external/internal) due to weather conditions.

- Complete other duties as assigned.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

- Thorough knowledge of proper safety techniques and procedures while using chemicals, power tools, hand tools and equipment.

- Background in all areas of maintenance.

- Some knowledge of all general construction.

- Knowledge of power tools/equipment and their proper usage.

- Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision.

- Excellent attention to detail.

- Ability to work under pressure of deadlines with competing needs.

- Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records.

- Ability to troubleshoot/problem solve.

- Ability to comprehend mechanics and possesses a good mechanical aptitude.

- Ability to speak clearly and distinctly both in person and on the telephone.

- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.

- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.

- Ability to stoop and reach.

- Ability to climb ladders and work safely in high places.

- Ability to work in confined spaces or positions when inspecting or repairing hard-to-reach areas.

- Ability to cope with environmental stressors such as loud noises.

- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.

WORK EXPERIENCE AND WORKPLACE REQUIREMENTS

- At least 2 years of demonstrated construction, electrical, and/or maintenance experience is preferred.

- Must have a valid driver’s license.

- No smoking while on Paisley Park campus.

- Must adhere to a pescatarian environment while on Paisley Park campus.

- Must pass a background check and drug test prior to starting work.

- The ideal candidate will have flexible availability to accommodate weekend, evening, and some holiday shifts.

PAY AND BENEFITS

· $18-$22 per hour commensurate with experience and abilities.

· Paid time-off after a 60-day probationary period.
