Tulsa Community WorkAdvance is offering Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training that is no cost to you! EMTs are in high demand and make anywhere from $12-$18 per hour to start. A certification and job as an EMT is a great pathway to advancing your emergency medical services career as a paramedic or firefighter!

Requirements:

Must possess H.S. diploma or GED

Must be able to pass a background check

Must be able to pass a drug screen

Must be able to perform physical work like bending, stooping and heavy lifting of patients

Must be or be able to become up to date on vaccinations

You will receive:

Training details:

8 Week Training

Classes held Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Clinicals include four 12-hour shifts (evening and weekend shifts available)

What does an Emergency Medical Technician do?

Responds to emergencies to help patients

Provide cardiovascular and respiratory emergency aide

Uses physiology and other medical knowledge to handle casualty and triage at emergencies

Understands patient care through knowledge of pediatrics, geriatrics, obstetrics, and other medical knowledge
