Title: Business Systems Analyst

Location: Morrisville, NC

Duration: 3+ Month contract

About the Role: Analyzes business and user needs, documents requirements, and designs the functional specifications for systems and reports. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact- finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.

Your Main Responsibilities:
  • Gathers and writes requirements and design specifications for large or moderately complex systems.
  • Analyzes issues with requirements and design.
  • Helps to define interaction of data with other systems/databases at PPD or client companies.
  • Work with developers, QA testers, validation team members and managers to create and analyze various other required project documentation.
  • Provides guidance to associate level Business System Analyst staff in requirement gathering projects.
  • Stays abreast with the latest developments in related technologies and share knowledge with team members.
  • Trains on new technologies and tools that are related to job duties.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years' experience working in a software development environment, of which at least 2 years must be directly involved in requirement gathering) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
  • Good understanding of system development life cycle and requirements methodology
  • Good understanding of requirement gathering methodologies, for example waterfall, Agile, Spiral, JAD sessions, as well as best practices
  • Ability to write use cases
  • Good understanding of different requirement types such as Business, User, Functional, and non- Functional
  • Ability to interact with relational databases at an intermediate level
  • CRO or Pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience with CTMS systems
  • Experience configuring off the shelf systems to meet specific business process needs
  • Experience with GxP Regulated and/or clinical systems
