Seeking an entry-level Administrative Assistant to work closely with the Executive Director of the International Hospitality Center, a not-for-profit organization that provides homestays with local families (J-1 and F-1 high school exchange students), cross-cultural programming for foreign students and government grantees/visitors, as well as ESL educational programs for students of all ages. The ideal candidate possesses solid office and computer skills, passion for the work we do, and is eager to grow their career with new business skills.

The administrative assistant will:

Support the office and assist the Executive Director

Manage projects and assignments

Communicate with diverse audiences (eg., exchange students, host families, sponsoring international organizations)

Process paperwork for student placements, write reports, perform filing and office organization

Plan events and programming

Market programs (eg., social media, online, with media contacts)

Answer phones and receive guests

Provide other support as assigned

Skills:

Strong computer and online research skills

Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook

Ability to use Excel to create mail merges in Word

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong customer service skills

Required Experience:

1-3 years experience in an office environment with positive references

Experience doing mailings and email blasts

1+ year working or planning events

Appreciation for cross-cultural exchange and study abroad

Bachelor's degree

Preferred/Bonus Experience:

3+ years experience in an office environment

Experience living, learning or teaching abroad
