Attendant/Caregiver For Hire ASAP! $19.50/hr for the first 6 months

The first shift would be a Care Attendant to work with me Monday-Friday, 4/5 PM to 8:30/9 PM, and also on Saturdays from 10 AM - 8:30/9 PM weekly (with flexibility around scheduling according to My schedule).

I am smart, determined, and busy adult male with a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy living in the Lowry area (East Denver Metro). My life and work requires me to have a stable and reliable Care Attendant to assist me with tasks like cooking breakfast/lunch/dinners, assists with showering and grooming, as well as occasional errands and working through/preparing for the work day/next work.

My passion and ocupation is IT and Disability Rights Advocacy, and I work with a disability rights non-profit organization full-time. Because my workload continues to increase, and I am responsible for many projects and meetings (now mostly virtual), I am looking for someone who can keep up with me so I can remain successful in my position and life.

My ideal Attendant would be someone who can work alongside me and my schedule without other obligations or interruptions during our time together. I enjoy individuals who are professional, mature, intelligent, dedicated, supportive of me, and who has a good sense of humor.

This position requires you to be on time, flexible and attentive to my needs, and focused on the tasks and work we need to accomplish each day. I need an attendant who can tend to my personal care needs, basic housekeeping needs, someone who knows their way around the kitchen, as well as someone who can understand the importance of my work and can represent me well when out in the community and when I am in the office as I am part of a very small skeleton crew that keeps our physical office running.

You would working to help with:

Personal care

Housekeeping

Meal Prep and assist

Transportation

Basic errands

Attending meetings and appointments (with training) (if/when this goes back to "normal")

Assisting with in-office (a few Saturdays/Sundays/mo) tasks like lunch, bathroom breaks, help moving tech-related equipment around, and sometimes trips to and from the electronics store and other stores

A Normal Week Might Look Like:

7/8, 9 or 10 AM start (with room for flexibility depending on My schedule)

Assist with grooming, bathing and toileting

Dressing

Breakfast/lunch/dinner prep and assist

Housekeeping

First shift, from 4/5 PM, sometimes in the office but mostly at my home, same applies for Saturdays

Second shift might be split, first half ends around 2 or 3 PM, end of second half, 8 or 9 (with room for flexibility depending on My schedule)

Once a month, I need to work at my office. That weekend shift is usually from 10 AM - 7 or 8 PM (with some exceptions. Some months there might be 1 to 2 extra Saturdays and/or Sundays I will need to work in the office, but I will communicate those dates to you beforehand).

Given the nature of my job, this is only a typical week, but it can look very different from week-to-week, so this is why flexibility is key!

Strength for transfers, bathing, and toileting assists

Working cell phone (for continuous communication and scheduling)

Reliable car for transport (can carry a foldable wheelchair, miles will be compensated)

Clean record; Valid driver's license; Current car insurance; Current plates on your car (No questions)

Must be able to pass a federal criminal background check

Spanish as a first or second language, ALWAYS A PLUS

Someone interested in basic technology is also a great help.

The position starts at $19.50/hr, with the possibility of a pay increase after 6 months

(up to $20.00/hr, and more after a year).
