Description:Local public health provider is looking for an IT supervisor/manager to join their Analytics and Innovation team. This person will be a hands on technical manager. Approximately 40% of the job will be technical work; the rest will be managerial and administrative. This person should have a strong understanding of healthcare payors or providers (company has both). They should also have advanced SQL skills. Health Services Information Technology SupervisorSalary (once position goes full-time)$101,958.24 - $136,633.92 AnnuallyUnder general direction, manages an independent information technology work group or serves as a project lead on information technology projects within the Health Services Information Technology Unit; supervises subordinate professional and technical staff, and performs related work as required.Distinguishing CharacteristicsIncumbents in this class are distinguished from the Health Services Information Technology Manager as this class is responsible for smaller work groups of lower complexity based on several factors including: size of budget; number and complexity of applications being run and supported; and variety of platforms and their interconnections within the organization. Work is accomplished within a broad framework with sole authority and responsibility in a given functional area or service. Incumbents must exercise creative ability, resourcefulness and judgment in the analysis and solution of complex problems. Incumbents normally report to a Manager, but may report to an Assistant Health Services Information Technology Director.Minimum QualificationsEducation: Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Medical Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Health Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience: Three (3) years of full-time, or its equivalent, experience as a manager, supervisor, or project lead in an information technology environment having responsibility for one or more of the following areas: application support, development/programming, data analysis and report development, systems analysis, technical support and/or network or server administration, at least two (2) years of which was in a health care information systems environment. Substitution for Education: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years. One (1) additional year of qualifying experience noted above may be substituted for the required academic major. Substitution for Experience: Possession of a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the fields noted above may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. Certification: May be required to obtain and maintain vendor specific certifications on applications supported.
