Confluent Kafka AdministratorThe Confluent Kafka Administrator will be responsible for assisting with the design, architecture, implementation, and on-going support of Kafka clusters on an Event Streaming Architecture Pilot project. In this role, you will manage large scale multi-node Kafka cluster environments. We need a resource to handle all Kafka environment builds, including design, capacity planning, cluster setup, performance tuning, and ongoing monitoring. Finally, in this role, you will perform high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for the Kafka Cluster

  • Standing up and administering on premise and Azure Kafka platform.
  • Provide expertise in Kafka brokers, zookeepers, Kafka connect, schema registry, KSQL, Rest proxy and Kafka Control center.
  • Ensure optimum performance, high availability and stability of solutions
  • Create topics, setup redundancy cluster, deploy monitoring tools, alerts and has good knowledge of best practices.
  • Provide administration and operations of the Kafka platform like provisioning, access lists Kerberos and SSL configurations.
  • Use automation tools like provisioning using open shift, Docker, Jenkins and cp-ansible.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience
  • Experience administering the following Event-Driven Architecture Components:
  • 5 years with Apache/Confluent Platform Kafka
  • 2 years ZooKeeper, Confluent Control Center, Confluent Schema Registry, Connect cluster
  • Understanding of Data access, Data Retention, and archiving
  • Experience performing Confluent Platform installation, upgrades, and maintenance
  • Experience working with Confluent Security Plugins
  • Experience on cp-ansible is a bonus
  • 6+ years of experience as the Unix/Linux Systems Administrator
  • 3 years of professional experience in Kafka Admin
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / equivalent preferred
