  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution OR 3 years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
  • At least 10+ years of experience with "Information Technology Engineering Skills
  • Job Description: The candidate will be part of Client (PC / Laptop) Configuration and Integration including Health component in this role.
    • Ability to manage drivers and firmware release patching in the environment by adopting the ones having the least failure rate
    • Update driver detection from a variety of sources through continual monitoring of the system as a whole; these can be self-detection /monitoring, or from outside companies, business units, or other teams
    • Update frequency can be at least once a year, efficiently handle multiple platform drivers update as one patch package to limit disruption and reboots for end users
    • Drive the fault rates as low as possible and let those versions remain for at least 12 months if possible
    • Expected to own the lower level stack of the PCs for all models supported in the environment (typically 40+ models)
    • Provide updated driver release from OEM or client site if available to resolve the issue
    • Proactively check for the need to make a change in the environment from a variety of data points, assessing the risks / tradeoffs of that change, prioritizing, and driving the release of fix most needed
    • Drive KPIs for respective domain
    • Handling tickets at level 5 for closure by reaching out to the end user, troubleshooting the issue, and provide the solution
    • Work with multiple stakeholders such as site supervisors, Packaging team, Deployment team, Build Team, etc. to maintain the environment supported by client IT
    Key Roles & Responsibilities:
    • Monitoring day-to-day performance of tech systems
    • Diagnosing, debugging, and troubleshooting tech problems
    • Manage allowable fault rates on the platform as per client standards
    • Determine and monitor the overall performance of the platform / driver using client provided tools
    • Perform root cause analysis based on event logs and crash dumps
    • Minimize degradation of performance by working with the vendor to improve performance with their driver stack
    • Monitor hardware failure rates for all devices in the environment
    • Define KPIs needed for Health and Validation team to measure
    • Smoke Test Potential Driver Candidates for release and analyzing the potential impacts to performance
    • Follow the defined process for driver and firmware releases
    • Analyze driver advisories for impacts to the PC fleet
    • Troubleshoot and close the tickets raised by the end users within the SLA period
    Mandatory Skills:
    • Strong PC troubleshooting skills - troubleshooting on desktops / laptops in case of issues with various components and drivers
    • Exposure in any or multiple domains such as WLAN, Graphics, Firmware, BIOS, and drivers, etc.
    • Expertise in troubleshooting the driver / firmware / hardware issues
    • Example: Wireless, LAN, Serial I/O, Graphics, Audio, Fingerprint reader, Mouse, Keyboard, Blue Tooth, Camera, RST (Storage), Client Chipset, Management Engines drivers, BIOS, etc.
    • Knowledge of Thunderbolt docking Stations and addressing new issues
    • Strong understanding of Windows Internals - Win 10
    • General PC Architecture, OS Architecture, Firmware, and Driver Architecture / Framework
    • Experience to analyze BSODs & USDs
    • Ability to read and analyze Event Viewer logs
    • Ability to use available Microsoft and 3rd party tools to analyze PC failures and performance issues
    • Troubleshoot and analyze complex issues and determine root cause
    • Domain knowledge: WLAN Network Protocols, Audio, Graphics Standards, and Firmware / CSME / TPM
    • Knowledge to drive Health KPIs and validation metric definitions
    • Ability to identify, assess, and drive implementation of changes to the drivers and Firmware deployed in the environment
    • Knowledge of Windows Performance tools
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create clear and concise documentation
    • Ability to communicate by telephone, email, or face to face
    • Platform hardware maintenance skills
    • Travel may be required as per the job requirements
    Additional Skills:
    • Expertise in Sysinternals suite
    • Very good in using tools Wind DBG and Performance Analyzer
    • Understanding of Windows Panther Logs
    • Windows Telemetry
    • Attention to detail, customer orientation, and influencing
    • Strong communications / networking
    • Willingness to continually learn new products and technologies
