Job Summary / Overview:

Assist in providing training support services in various settings from a new hire, to peer member and to community Peer Support Training, as well as, educate and provide services in advance recovery and wellness to include First Ain/CPR.

Position overview statement:

This is responsible work in the field of behavioral health to assist in providing training internally and to outside agencies and clients in multiple locations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

New Hire Training

Work collaboratively with the management team.

Assure the implementation and facilitation of training programs, goals, objectives and outcomes.

Periodic assistance as a Peer Support Specialist that will utilize and teach problem solving techniques to

individuals and/or groups; discussions will be applied where peers will share common problems in daily living (life skills) and what methods can be used to manage and cope with these problems.

Be able to share what skills, strengths, supports and resources can be used.

Build an understanding of boundaries.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Assist peers in building the social skills and to build a support network with others

peers in the community to increase a support system and build citizenship and

skills that will enhance job acquisition and tenure.

Live Peer Support Training (PST)

Maintains quarterly, bi-monthly and monthly Peer Support Training schedule (varies by location).

Generate training announcements/flyers and distribute to area clinics and appropriate RBHA’s 3-4 weeks prior to each training

Support local staff in reaching out to PST referrals prior to training, providing Peers with dates, times and location of training.

Enroll absentees in online PST curriculum and monitor progress.

Abilities and Skills Requirements:

Knowledge of:

Recovery principles.

HIPAA regulations and procedures of confidentiality.

Regulations and procedures for Community Service Agencies.

Skill in

Providing, implementing and facilitating programs.

Training and supporting consumers to operate consumer-run programs.

Resolving problems and conflicts.

Ability to:

Communicate clearly verbally and in writing.

Use independent judgment and problem solving; to make decisions and take action in areas of responsibility.

Organize and facilitate consumer programs and services.

Be flexible in job assignments and to adjust priorities and procedures to accommodate changes.

Meet deadlines in an orderly and timely manner.

Perform physical and intellectual tasks required to fulfill job responsibility.

Skill to teach and engage in basic problem solving strategies to support individual peers.

Interest in and aptitude for consumer advocacy.

Education / Certifications:

Community Health Specialist a plus.

Supported employment certificate a plus.

Must complete Company Peer-to-Peer Support Provider Training.

Teaching and training skills background a plus.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Current certification in CPR/First Aid a plus.

HS or GED

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

Clear a background check and be free of major criminal offenses.

A current and valid Arizona driver’s license with a 60 month clear MVR.

If in recovery, must be stable for over one year.

Pass a drug test.

Verified legal status to work in the United States.

Travel Requirements

Travel is required to other areas in Arizona.

Travel for training and learning programs.
