Human Resources Representative / Coordinator
FULL-TIME

JOB SUMMARY: In a large (500+) food manufacturing union environment: Assists in the implementation of human resources administration (FMLA, LOAs), including records maintenance, clerical support, compliance issues, training, employee service programs, union related issues, administers state or federally mandated programs
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Processes paperwork and performs a variety of clerical tasks to support Human Resources administration, including employee relations, recruitment, staffing, preparation of workers’ compensation claims, completion of new employee paperwork, conducts new employee orientation, support of accounting functions (HR invoices) and routine correspondence. (25%)
2. Maintains Human Resources records and files for all GSF employees (e.g., employee status change, address change, job bids, pay rate changes, etc.) to ensure compliance with GSF, federal, and state regulations and policies. (20%)
3. Recruits and selects hourly employees by preparing and placing job advertisements, screening applications, interviewing applicants and making job offers. (15%)
4. Administers FMLA, sick leave policy, including short- and long-term disability, and medical/family medical leaves and handles all corresponding paperwork. In union facilities, administers the attendance control system and all corresponding reports and paperwork which include disciplinary notices. (10%)
5. In union facilities, administers the job bid process, disciplinary notices, initial steps of the grievance process, termination paperwork, processes health and welfare benefits paperwork. (10%)
6. Oversees the associate recognition program. (10%)
7. Assist in the preparation of special reports and projects, such at attendance tracking, safety performance, employee activities, wellness committee, vending reimbursements, etc. (5%)
8. Coordinates and provides assistance and information to employee’s benefits information, workers compensation, timekeeping reports, human resources policies and procedures. Performs all other related and assigned duties as necessary. (5%)
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Or, HR certification from SHRM or HRCI plus demonstrated years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience:
5+ years of relevant HR work experience
