Job Description
Job Summary - Customer Service Representative
Essential Functions- Process customer purchase orders and amendments received via mail, telephone, fax, e-mail, and Web-based EDI
- Enter manual releases and spot orders incl. special requirements, and acknowledge back to customer
- Work with Sales Administration for verification of price discrepancies or unknown part numbers
- Maintain customer master file in IBS
- Ensure all information is correctly attached and readily available for follow-ups, auditors, and internal departments
- Process and log CSI's (customer specific instructions) within customer master file
- Assist sales staff with information concerning customer accounts
- Process Requests for Quotes for current customers for standard products using customers’ established discount structure/special.pricing
- Assist with maintaining work instructions and procedures for the Customer Service Dept.
- Develop new prospects and interact with existing customers primarily by phone to increase sales of Oetiker products.
- Performing other duties as assigned by direct supervisor
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations
- Administrative and computer skills (MS Office and ERP systems)
- Quality and Environmental Policies, Process Manuals
- Product knowledge
- Ability to quickly assist customers and/or urgent customer situations
- Ability to work independently without supervision
- Ability to prioritize and make decisions
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills (interpersonal and business writing skills)
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent
- Preferably a minimum of 2 years customer service or inside sales experience
