Description: Human Factors Engineer - remote at the moment but will go onsite after covid passes Job Duties: We are looking for an experienced Human Factors Engineer to create an engaging user experience for Intel's Source to Pay cloud solution/platform. You will work closely with capability designers, users, business groups and program & product management to gather user data through proven HFE techniques and UX (user experience) design to feed into the capability design and development. Your user focus and heuristic experience will contribute to the UI design making it usable and intuitive for the 10,000+ user base. You will represent the user personas (shoppers, approvers) in design discussions and recommendations for the 'Purchasing Portal' redesign as well as the design of the 'Guided buying' user interface for S@I (shopping at intel; Intel's SAP Ariba platform for indirect sourcing, procurement, invoice and payment.) You may also contribute to designing and validating user communications about the tool. Role and Responsibilities: The individual in this position will work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional team to deliver products with best-in class user experience. You will be gathering user data and representing the user base in the designing of web interfaces that will be user experience driven and a pleasure to use. Seek to create the best possible product or service for users by finding the sweet spot between their needs, business constraints, and technical capabilities. Deliver task analysis, user error analysis, develop success criteria, analyze results, and provide data-based design recommendations Collaborate closely with interface designers, engineers, and the marketing team and business leaders to define detailed designs that meet customer needs and to motivate teams to seek, utilize, and apply customer insights Plan and execute methodologically sound usability testing, data analysis, results documentation and presentations Required Skills: Demonstrated track record of success analyzing user needs via contextual research, usability testing, and other validation methods. Proven ability to focus on the user's needs and to translate those needs into design recommendations Expert knowledge of interaction design/user-centered design principles Expert in planning all aspects of and executing on rapid user testing methods and to quickly turn-around data-driven recommendations (including in-person and remote usability testing) Ability to contribute to testing and implementation approach for presentation layer/front end user interface Possess excellent communication skills, the drive to succeed and work independently and on a team, with the ability to multi task, and deliver quality results. Able to understand business goals and link them to design directions and product architecture and advocate for short-term solutions that support long-term product visions and business strategies Experience of agile development processes is a plus knowledge of Ariba is a plus Complimentary skills: BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent. Experience developing highly interactive Web applications Years of experience required: 3- 5 years professional UX/HFE experience in developing software and/or hardware Degree Required Type: BS in Engineering, Human Factors Engineering / Ergonomics, Usability Engineering, Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, Industrial Design, Engineering Psychology or equivalent degree
