job summary:Our client, a gaming studio with one of the most anticipated games launching next year, is looking for an Unreal Engine Network Engineer. Ideal candidate will be self-driven and able to work in a highly collaborative and creative environment. Must have a minium of 3 years of experience working with Unreal Engine.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Optimize Unreal Engine replication and RPCs for our specific product needs
  • Audit, optimize and maintain replication and RPCs for game systems and blueprints
  • Maintain and optimize network communication between game servers and services
  • Maintain and optimize game patcher
  • Contribute to our code base, systems, and software architecture as a member of our engineering team, with an eye towards making our software (both application and infrastructure) more scalable, reliable, and performance
  • Create unit tests for networking performance testing

MUST HAVE'S:
  • At least 3 years expertise with Unreal Engine
  • Shipped project with Unreal Engine
  • Expertise working with C, C#
  • Experience building in a cloud environment
  • Knowledge of Linux & Windows environments, source code control systems, and release management
  • strong coding, testing, algorithm design, and debugging skills
  • Working knowledge of how switches, routers, firewalls or load balancers work
  • Solid software engineering experience with large code bases (>100k lines of code)
  • Skill in developing techniques and methodologies to resolve unprecedented problems or situations.
  • Must be a self-starter that requires only limited supervision/guidance.
  • Honesty, integrity and confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
  • Must be a team player
  • Have good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced changing environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and SNMP
  • Experience with multi-core/multi-thread programming

NICE TO HAVE'S:
  • BS Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • Experience with Wireshark/Tcpdump/Netcat
