This position focuses on software design and control system architecture, with an emphasis on integrating instrumentation into semiconductor manufacturing lines.The successful LabVIEW Developer will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with highly technical peers, and the capability to manage workload among changing priorities, alternating between hands-on verification, validation, software development and automation. Applicants should thrive in a dynamic startup environment and have a troubleshooting mindset: an ability to systematically and effectively break down a system or process into subparts to identify failure mechanisms.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Perform complex software design (define requirements, author code, and test)
  • Drive and contribute to feature development from requirements to delivery following software development practices
  • Identify ways to improve software development practices
  • Participate in formal and informal code and design reviews
  • Develop complex applications in LabVIEW and other suitable technologies and deploy systems into the lab and the field.
  • Assist control systems engineering during system design phase
  • Perform component selection
  • Perform root cause analysis for failures and implement solutions
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation (technical manual generation)
  • Provide field support of instrumentation (domestic/international)
  • Oversee automated test development/system validation

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • LabVIEW with minimum of 4+ years of labview experience in the field of industrial automation
  • Data acquisition, robotics, IO, industrial communication, and machine vision
  • Source code control (GIT/BitBucket)
  • Technical experience and strong command of industry trends and ability to apply those for desired outcomes
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, and advanced problem-solving orientation and decision-making skills
  • Understanding of networking principles and concepts
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum models and ability to critique work of self and others constructively
  • Excellent documentation skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Eligibility to legally work in the United States

DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Experience designing and fabricating automated control systems
  • LabVIEW RT and LabVIEW FPGA
  • Experience with following hardware is a plus: Vacuum pumps, MFCs, Vacuum Valves, Gauges, motion stages (DC/servo/piezo), robotic arms (for semiconductor industry), safety controllers, digital and analog cameras, NI-cRIO, NI-PXI, NI-FPGA, ECAT
  • Knowledge of: LVOOP, Actor framework, Labview DVRs, Ethercat communication, Labview RT/FPGA, FIFO, Streams, Matlab, Large scale architecture (1000+ VIs) and interaction between modules
  • Semiconductor capital equipment experience
  • SEMI/NFPA/IEC standards
