Must have lead experience leading a team of developers citizen or s are encouraged to apply Location: Columbus OH Duration: 6+ months Team consists of 7 people with a mix of BSAs, developers, testers and an architect. Need to have strong communication and collaboration skills. Ideal background will be someone who has worked with external customer facing websites. Description: Currently looking for a candidate who is interested in leading a team of developers who support and enhance customer digital channels. This position will primarily be focused on full stack website development, but also has the potential to work with mobile applications as well. They will be working on multiple projects at once. The primary focus is new enhancements brought by the customer team to the external facing customer website. Desired candidates would be willing to come into the team, dig deep into development in order to gain a strong understanding of our solutions, pick up as much knowledge of our business processes as well as technology, and prepare themselves to move into an architect role longer term. Working independently, the software developer will lead and participate in the design, coding, testing and delivery of software solutions that are consistent with AEP standards and practices. The developer must lead and function as a member of a team and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle. Possesses an advanced level of proficiency in skills and knowledge. Because this is a lead position we are specifically looking for someone who naturally takes on accountability for the products and meeting the needs of our business partners. Good communication is a must and having the ability to lead and influence others is also critical. Essential Job Functions & Tasks: 1. Design, develop or modify code according to AEP standards and practices 2. Identify and remove software defects 3. Give direction as technical lead and works with team members 4. Provide solution ideas and direction 5. Use software testing tools to assure the creation of software having the fewest defects 6. Lead and participate in Code reviews 7. Share responsibility and assist team members in achieving goals 8. Communicate effectively with others. 9. Mentor peers and junior software developers 10. Participate in the standards process 11. Collaborate with architect, analyst, project manager and customers Full stack website development will require the following experience, which must be proven during interview: HTML5 and CSS3 mastery ASP.net (C#) and JavaScript fluency, with proven experience Rich understanding and experience using responsive web design to create usable interfaces Ability to deliver modern web experiences with performant code Able to integrate with web services via varying protocols (REST/JSON, SOAP/XML) Familiarity with source code management Passion for making useful, usable products that make our customers' lives better
