Job Description

The Financial Operations Analyst will support the corporate financial planning and analysis (“FPA”) function and provide financial and operations support for the operating Divisions of Discovery Behavioral Health. Corporate FPA responsibilities include routine reporting to both internal and external stakeholders, building and monitoring the operating and capital budget, facilitate the capital expense requisition process, M&A sell-side support, and other duties described below.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial analysis and routine reporting in support of internal stakeholder needs, Board of Directors, and Lenders.
  • Participates in the building and monitoring of the operating and capital budget.
  • Supports financial due diligence as necessitated by M&A, de novo, expansion, or other growth vector activity.
  • Facilitate the capital expenditure requisition process and tracking.
  • Take the lead on the Fleet Management program.
  • Provides support to the Risk Management program including applications, claim tracking, etc.
  • Able to extrapolate and create forecasts / pro-forma models of financial performance.
  • Able to interpret financial statements and perform standard financial statement analysis and statistical calculations.
  • Provide Ad hoc financial analysis and financial modelling to support business objectives.
  • Maintain the bonus tracking worksheet.
  • Partner with the assigned Division President to help drive operations through analytics, project facilitation, and providing financial education to facility leaders.
  • Partners with the accounting department to ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial reporting for the assigned Operating Division (“Division”)
  • Provide the monthly Management Operating Review report for the assigned Division to the Division President, Regional Leaders, Senior Facility Leadership, and key corporate stakeholders.
  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses, including service line analysis.
  • Develops and utilizes decision support tools to proactively identify financial, operational, and business concerns and opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on labor efficiency and cost compliance for the Division. This includes compliance with staffing grids, OT %, and average hours rate.
  • Maintains industry knowledge.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
  • CPA, MBA, or related degree preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of purchase accounting and the ability to create pro forma financial statements and models using acquisition deal terms
  • Must be able to assess situations, identify issues/problems and prioritize duties
  • Experience in financial statement review and analysis
  • Experience in forecasting and budgeting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office application required
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle applications and data base software preferred
