Our Monterey law firm is continuing to grow and has an immediate opening for an operations support assistant. Prior legal experience not required—we care more about who you are and what you are capable of learning to do.

As an operations support assistant, your mission is to support the legal operations of our fast-paced law firm. You will accomplish this by interfacing with a broad cross section of the firm—managers, attorneys, and paralegals—to support the speedy delivery of high quality legal services. This means your work will include:

Working directly with attorneys to facilitate the completion of client contracts and retainer agreements

Becoming familiar with important rules of civil procedure so that you can verify that case and court deadlines are calendared properly by attorneys and paralegals

Opening, reviewing, and scanning incoming mail, and becoming familiar with legal documents so you can recognize the different types and take appropriate responsive action

Preparing and circulating agendas for attorney meetings

Collecting crucial case evidence from government entities

Ensuring the physical case file is organized and up to date for paralegals and attorneys

Some preliminary requirements we’ll ask you to meet as an applicant:

Basic computer skills, including the ability to type 40 wpm.

Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and with warmth to our clients.

Responsible and reliable. Able to commit to full time work M-F 8:00-5:00.
