Common App is currently searching for a Data Warehouse Engineer. We are looking for a Data Warehouse Engineer that demonstrates enthusiasm for the education technology market and a passion for creating products that can transform the lives of students. Reporting to the Associate Director Development, Common App’s Data Warehouse Engineer is responsible for developing and enhancing our new enterprise level data warehouse and data transformation process to enable storing and retrieval of multiple sources of data. This individual will help to create, enhance and maintain the data structure that allows us to easily access and present internal and external data for analytics, business intelligence and external needs. This individual will consult with our data management group, creating a refined data warehousing environment, extracting data from various internal and external sources, adding to the data warehouse’s capabilities, and testing the environment upon completion.

RequirementsThe ideal candidate will be comfortable working with an enterprise level data warehouse and excited to help improve and evolve the data warehouse over time. Candidates for this role should possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, or other relevant area, with four or more years of experience in data warehouse/ELT development. The individual selected will be highly proficiency with coding languages like python/pyspark, Apache Spark, Glue/EMR, AWS SDK, CLI, and Console, and AWS services DMS, S3, Glue, DynamoDB, RDS, Lambda, and Redshift. We are looking for a team player who thrives in a diverse, collaborative environment where they can both work as part of a team but also operate effectively as an individual contributor for quick turnaround of enhancements and fixes. Candidates should be flexible and organized with the ability to produce quality work under deadlines, on multiple projects. Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business environments are necessary for this position.
