Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager of Systems Operations, the Lead System Administrator is responsible for maintaining technical solutions to support the Information Technology Solutions department. The Lead Systems Administrator is also responsible for operating, monitoring, deploying, documenting, patching, and troubleshooting core system infrastructure such as server operating systems, server hardware, virtualization platforms, storage arrays, and applications. The Lead System Administrator position is a subject matter expert in data center-centric to Cloud-based infrastructure that envision future state technologies, delivering increased agility, scalability, performance, and resiliency. This role will support, analyze, administer, and deploy solutions to drive technology modernization and the incorporation of industry best practices. This position is classified as 100% remote and will work from home full-time. Working hours will be basedon Pacific Standard Time (PST).

Performs complex and advanced analysis to acquire, install, modify and support operating systems, databases, utilities and web-related tools. Selects methods and techniques to obtain solutions. Interacts with senior management. May perform complex network integration tasks and interoperability assessments for interconnected servers or components of clusters for communication. May lead a team of systems/infrastructure professionals.- Systems include virtual infrastructure (VMware), Windows and Linux Operating Systems, third party (vendor supplied) applications, and cloud-based applications and platforms.Our team-based model requires initiative, good communication skills, the ability to work on multiple efforts concurrently, and the desire to learn multiple disciplines. Configures and allocates cross-platform SAN/NAS based storage to virtual and physical infrastructure. Maintains storage replication and snapshots.
- Plays a key operational role in day to day activities for the Systems Operations group. Specifies, writes and executes highly complex scripts to support systems management, log analysis and other support duties for multiple, highly integrated systems.
- Create, execute, and document scripts in various languages such as perl, python, groovy, and powershell. Utilize configuration management such as Ansible to deploy systems and maintain desired state configuration.
- Follows industry best practices, UCOP, and UCR security procedures and policies. Ensures security controls are maintained in a consistent manner across systems and applications. Monitors system and application logs for compliance with security policies.
