Key Skills and Experience Required
  • Specialized knowledge, NEC, ISA
  • Technical background in electrical and instrument drafting and design
  • PCT drafting/design in chemical or related industry
  • ACAD, SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID (Piping and Instrument Diagrams)
  • Ability to size cable tray, power cables for motors
  • Familiarity with hazardous area installation techniques

Desired Skills
  • ACAD Plant 3d and Revit
  • Chemical Field (in Plant) experience helpful
  • Duties often require going out into the plant and assessing work required.
  • Be able to interface and communicate with various team members, customers, and contractors.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivator

Job Description
  • Responsible for the execution of the PCT design and drafting for Projects or Maintenance Work orders (MWO). This work involves, but is not limited to, the following duties:
    • The development of the PCT construction packages (includes design references below)
    • Electrical and instrumentation installation support
    • Updating design documentation to the as-built versions
  • PCT Designer duties include, but are not limited to the design, maintaining, and drafting of:
    • Cable tray systems
    • Grounding
    • Lighting
    • Power
    • Heat trace
    • Equipment Room layout
    • Electrical and Instrumentation circuit diagrams (MCCs, Distributive Control Systems, PLCs, etc.)
    • Standard installation details (includes Safety Instrumented System (SIS) installations)
    • Area Classification Drawings
    • As-built PCT documentation at completion of construction.
